Madeleine Purcell
Madeleine Purcell is a Connecticut native who grew up dancing at Connecticut Dance School in Fairfield. In 2012 she was accepted to American Ballet Theatre's JKO School where she trained under Franco Devita until 2015. After a final year training spent studying the Balanchine style at Ballet Academy East, she accepted a contract with the Sarasota Ballet. There she danced corps and demi-soloist roles in ballets such as George Balanchine's Theme & Variations, Jewels, Frederick Ashton's The Two Pigeons and Antony Tudor's The Leaves are Fading, among others. After a season spent as a freelance dancer in New York and Connecticut, she was invited to dance with Tivoli Ballet Theatre in Denmark for their world premiere production of Yuri Possokhov's Snedronningen (The Snow Queen) where she originated the soloist role of The Princess. Purcell is also an ABT Certified Teacher in Levels Pre-Primary- 5, in addition to having had three articles published by Pointe Magazine online.
