Pre-Ballet A – Ages 3-4 – Available in-studio and online

This class, for our youngest students, is 45 minutes long and uses play and creative movement to develop cross-brain integration, motor skills, coordination, and musicality. Students are introduced to class structure and begin to learn to listen and follow directions. Prerequisite: Students should be potty-trained before enrolling.

 Pre-Ballet B – Ages 5-6 – Available in-studio and online

Like Pre-Ballet A, this class approaches dance training with age-appropriate exercises that utilize play and creative movement to improve motor skills, strength, and coordination. The class is one hour in length, slightly more structured than Pre-Ballet A, and some basic ballet vocabulary and concepts are introduced.

 Level 1 – Ages 7-8

This class is where specific ballet training begins, and it meets for 75 minutes once a week. The traditional ballet class structure – including barre work – is introduced, and students learn many steps from the essential ballet vocabulary. Expectations are increased, and more emphasis is placed on executing the steps correctly.

 Level 2 – Ages 9+

This level is focused on expanding the students’ repertoire of known ballet steps, continuing to develop coordination and musicality through the correct execution of those steps, and building strength in the back, legs, and feet. Proper alignment and muscle usage are emphasized throughout our curriculum, but in Level 2 are considered essential to attain before advancement to Level 3 and pointe work can be achieved. This class meets twice a week for 90 minutes.

 Level 3 – Minimum age 11

This level continues to build on the students’ knowledge and performance of classical ballet steps, and also introduces pointe work for our female students. This level is considered pre-professional, and meets for two hours three days per week. Prerequisite: students must have at least two years of ballet training.
