Rolling auditions
Central Oklahoma Ballet Theatre is a professional ballet performance company creating original classical and contemporary ballet in Oklahoma. We are looking for dancers with clean technique, expressive artistry and an interest in building new work.
Our approach to performance and pedagogy is holistic, and our mission is to bring dance to communities that might not otherwise have access to it. The company is dedicated to diversifying and broadening the scope of classical ballet, and to work that provokes, inspires and moves its audiences.
How to audition
Auditions are by video only. Email the following to info@okdance.org.
- Your CV or dance resume
- Two full-body photographs, one in first arabesque and one in tendu à la seconde
- An audition reel of no more than ten minutes showing barre, centre (adagio, pirouettes and grand allegro), and a variation or solo
About the position
- Part-time, contract-based performance work, typically one to two shows per season
- $500 to $1,000 in performance pay per production
- Individual coaching and artistic development from company faculty and mentors in the Oklahoma dance community
- Original and classical repertoire, with flexibility for other non-conflicting contracts
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age
- A minimum of five years of pre-professional training, with one to two years of professional experience preferred
- US citizenship or a valid US work visa
The position is based in Norman, Oklahoma, and local artists are preferred. We are not able to pay for travel or lodging, though we may reimburse fuel for dancers driving from nearby. If you are not local and are interested in working with us, please get in touch to discuss the details.
