Central Oklahoma Ballet Theatre Company Auditions

Central Oklahoma Ballet Theatre is an emerging professional ballet performance company with a vision for creating unique, vibrant and creative works of classical and contemporary ballet in the state of Oklahoma. Our holistic approach to dance performance and pedagogy drives our mission which is to bring dance to communities that might not otherwise have access to the beauty and inspiration of dance. Central Oklahoma Ballet Theatre is dedicated to diversifying and broadening the scope of classical ballet and seeking dancers looking to be part of the excitement and freedom of forging a new creative venture. COBT emphasizes clean technique, expressive artistry and innovative art that provokes, inspires and moves its audiences. The company is seeking a limited number of dancers to be the first company who will be enthusiastic brand ambassadors dedicated to building the company’s brand and image in the community through their artistry and performance.

Audition Information: Video auditions only. Email resume, dance photos and no more than 10 minute audition reel illustrating barre technique, centre floor (adagio, pirouettes and grand allegro) and variation or solo performance selection to info@okdance.org.

About the Position:

• Individualized coaching and artistic development

• $500-$1000 performance pay (typically 1-2 show per season)

• Flexibility for other non-conflicting contracts/jobs as necessary

• This is a part time/gig work position

Requirements:

Applicants must satisfy the following:

• Must be at least 18 years of age

• Minimum of 5 years pre-professional dance training

• 1-2 years of professional dance training preferred

• US Citizen or valid U.S. work visa

  *This position is based in Norman, Oklahoma, and local artists are preferred. COBT is unable to pay for travel or lodging costs, unless you are driving from a nearby location and then we may be able to reimburse fuel costs.
